Chamaerops humilis
Chamaerops humilis is a species of evergreen plant in the Arecaceae family.
It is often grown as a houseplant.
It reaches up to 2 meters in height.
The leaves are stiff and widely spaced, slightly corrugated. The blade is grayish-blue-green. The leaf stalk reaches a length of 60 to 100 cm, armed with thorns along the edges at the base.
The flowers are small and yellow, gathered in paniculate inflorescences that grow in the axils of the terminal leaves.
The fruits are reddish-yellow. They are not edible.
