Prosopis cineraria
Prosopis cineraria is a species of flowering tree in the Fabaceae family. It is native to arid parts of Western Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
It grows up to 5 m tall.
Leaves are pinnate, with small leaflets, usually glabrous, rarely hairy. Bracts are modified into thorns, sometimes small or absent altogether.
Flowers are very small and numerous, gathered in inflorescences growing in the leaf axils. The papilionaceous flowers are sessile or short-stalked, with petals usually white or yellow.
Fruits are pods of various shapes – straight or twisted, flat or convex.
Seeds are oval, flattened.
