Ulmus laevis

Ulmus laevis, also known as smooth elm or snail elm, is a stately deciduous tree. It is native to Europe.

It grows up to 35 meters tall.

The leaves are elliptical, doubly serrated, with a characteristically asymmetrical base. The upper surface is smooth and glabrous.

The flowers are small, clustered, and appear in early spring before the leaves emerge.

The fruits are flattened nuts surrounded by a broad wing, densely hairy on the edges, and borne on long peduncles.

Ulmus laevis prefers fertile, deep, and constantly moist soil.

It is highly frost-hardy and prefers a sunny or partly sunny location.

The photo above shows seeds of the plant included in this offer. The photo does not represent the quantity of seeds included in the offer; it is only a preview image showing the seed size.

Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are high-quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.

The package contains 10 grams of seeds, which equates to approximately 1,300 seeds (quantity determined based on the weight of one seed).

Seed Handling Instructions:

The seeds require stratification. To stratify, mix the seeds with slightly damp sand or perlite. Seal them in a zip-lock bag with air access (using small holes). Refrigerate for approximately 90 days, checking the moisture content every two weeks. After removing them from the refrigerator, sow them in a cold frame or in boxes. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil.

Provide a warm location.

SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
