Celtis australis
Celtis australis is a species of tree native to Western Asia, North Africa, and southern Europe.
It reaches a height of 20-25 meters.
The leaves are elongated, lanceolate-oblong, with pointed tips and deeply serrated edges.
The flowers appear in March and April, are yellow-green and inconspicuous.
The fruit is a berry-like drupe that grows on long stalks from the leaf axils. When ripe, it turns brownish-red, edible, and delicious.
Celtis australis is not a demanding plant; the soil does not need to be overly fertile. It prefers sunny or partially shaded locations, sheltered from strong winds. It is completely frost-hardy.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required. The seeds we offer are of high quality and designed for both nurserymen and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Sowing seeds requires stratification, or cooling. Before sowing, soak the seeds in water for 1-2 days, then mix them with slightly damp sand. Place the seeds and their soil in a bag or container and store them in the refrigerator for several weeks. Once the first signs of germination appear, sow them outdoors.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
