Cydonia oblonga
Cydonia oblonga is a small tree or large shrub native to Asia Minor and Iran. In our climate, it reaches approximately 3 meters in height.
The plant has medicinal properties!
The flowers are decorative, white, pale pink, or pink, single, and 5 cm in diameter. It blooms in late May and early June.
The fruit is pome-shaped, yellow, and edible, ripening in October. Suitable for preserves!
They contain, among other things, simple sugars, organic acids, tannins, and vitamins A, C, and B.
Quince leaves are dark green on top and gray-green on the underside, and heavily hairy. They turn yellow and orange in autumn.
Cydonia oblonga has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations, sheltered from the wind.
Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Before stratifying, soak the seeds in water for 24 hours. Then, place them in a moist substrate (e.g., sand) and cold stratify at approximately 5°C for approximately 60 days. Once stratification is complete, the seeds can be sown in pots or directly into the ground.
