Grewia asiatica
Grewia asiatica is a species of flowering plant in the Malvaceae family. It was first discovered in Varanasi, India.
It grows up to 8 meters tall.
The leaves are long and broad, 5–18 cm long, with a 1–1.5 cm petiole.
The flowers are clustered in inflorescences of several flowers. Individual flowers are approximately 2 cm in diameter, yellow, with five large sepals and five smaller petals.
The fruit is an edible drupe, 5–12 mm in diameter, and turns purple or black when ripe.
