Gloriosa superba
Gloriosa superba is a species of vine native to Africa and Asia.
It reaches up to 3 meters in height.
It is primarily used as an ornamental and medicinal plant.
The leaves are stem-like, sessile or with short petioles. The leaf blades are lanceolate or ovate.
The flowers are yellow-orange-red, often with wavy margins. The number of flowers roughly corresponds to the length of the rhizome in centimeters.
The fruits are hard, ovoid capsules. They contain approximately 90 seeds each, nearly spherical, spongy, and with a light red shell.
