Carpinus betulus
Carpinus betulus is a tree native to Europe.
It reaches 20-25 meters in height.
Leaves are ovate or oblong, with doubly serrated edges and a wavy surface, especially on young trees. They turn yellow in autumn.
The fruit is a nutlet enclosed by a three-lobed wing used for wind dispersal. These fruits are grouped in hanging seedheads that ripen in September and October.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed handling instructions:
Seeds should be sown in autumn or early spring at a depth of approximately 0.5-1 cm in moist soil. For seeds to germinate, they must undergo a period of stratification, a cool, moist period in winter. This means that if sown in the fall, they will not germinate until the following year. If sown in spring, they must first undergo this period of stratification.
SEEDS INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
