Chorisia speciosa
Chorisia speciosa is a species of deciduous tree with somewhat irregular branching. It is native to tropical and subtropical forests of South America.
It reaches up to 25 meters.
The trunks and branches are armed with strong triangular thorns.
The leaves are green, alternate, and consist of five to seven long leaflets.
The flowers are showy, with pink or pinkish-purple petals with a creamy-white center.
The fruits are brown, pear-shaped capsules, up to 20 cm long.
Requires well-drained soil. Prefers a sunny location.
