Casuarina equisetifolia is a tree native to Australia.
It reaches up to 35 meters in height.
The leaves are strongly reduced and scaly. They are lanceolate to triangular in shape.
The plant is used as a bonsai.
The fruits are 5–8 mm long and produced in cone-like infructescences.
The flowers are small and dioecious. Male flowers are borne at the tips of elongated stems, while female flowers are borne in heads on short lateral shoots.
It prefers a sunny location.
