Prunus serotina

Prunus serotina is a tree or shrub in the Rosaceae family, native to North America. It grows to a height of up to 20 meters.

It can be pruned and shaped in various ways.

Prunus serotina is cultivated in parks and gardens as an ornamental plant or for its edible fruit.

This plant can also be grown as a bonsai.

Prunus serotina has no special soil requirements, growing even in sandy soil. It is completely frost-hardy and thrives in both sunny and shaded areas.

It blooms in May and June in small, erect, creamy-white clusters.

The black fruit is spherical and pea-sized. They are used in making liqueurs, wines, juices, and preserves.

Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.

Seed Handling Instructions:

If sowing seeds in the fall, sow them directly into the ground.

If sowing seeds in the spring, they must be stratified for several weeks before sowing. After stratification, they can be sown in their permanent location or in a cold frame. Use a loose substrate, such as a peat and sand mixture. Sow the seeds approximately 3 cm deep, lightly cover them, and water them gently.
