Sorbus domestica
Sorbus domestica is a stately tree native to the Mediterranean region. It grows up to 15 meters tall.
The flowers are umbelliferous, white-pink. Blooming begins in May.
The pear-shaped, edible, yellow-red fruit ripens in autumn.
The plant's fruit is suitable for preserves, jams, syrups, liqueurs, and as an addition to baked goods, imparting a wonderful, spicy aroma!
The leaves are broadly ovate, up to 10 cm long, odd-pinnate, and light green.
Sorbus domestica has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is completely frost-hardy.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required. The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Stratify the seeds for 3-4 months at a temperature of 2-5°C. In spring, sow the seeds in a well-drained, slightly acidic soil, covering them with a thin layer of sand, and water thoroughly.
