Styrax obassia
Styrax obassia is a small tree native to China and Japan. It grows up to 7 meters tall.
The plant can be planted as a solitary specimen or as a flowering hedge!
The flowers are white, fragrant, and gathered in hanging clusters up to 20 cm long. Blooming begins in late May and early July.
The plant is a nectar-producing plant!
The fruit is a white, spherical drupe with a single, aquamarine seed.
The elliptical, dark green, glossy leaves, up to 15 cm long, turn a beautiful yellow in autumn.
Styrax obassia requires humus-rich, clay-sandy, and moist soil. It prefers sunny, partly sunny, or shaded, sheltered locations. Frost-hardy to -26°C (-4°F).
Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

Seed Handling Instructions:
Soak the seeds for 24 hours, then warm and cold stratify.
First, warm stratify at approximately 20-25°C for 4 months, followed by cold stratification at approximately 1-5°C for another 4 months.
After this process, sow the seeds approximately 2.5 cm deep.
Provide a sunny location sheltered from the wind. The soil should be fertile, humus-rich, and slightly acidic.
Ensure constant moisture, but avoid overwatering.
