Lantana camara is an evergreen subshrub belonging to the Verbenaceae family. It is native to South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean Islands.
In its natural habitat, it reaches over 3 meters in height, but in Poland it is usually three times shorter.
The leaves are sparse, wrinkled, green, and egg-shaped, approximately 10 cm long.
The flowers are small, varying in diameter, and borne on capitate inflorescences. A characteristic feature is that the flowers change color from yellow, through orange, to red during flowering.
