Araucaria bidwillii is an evergreen conifer native to Australian rainforests.

The needles are hard, sharp, and broad.

The flowers consist of male and female cones. The male cones are narrow, reaching up to 20 cm in length, and are shed after flowering. The female cones are ovoid, reaching a considerable size, up to 30 cm, after pollination.

The woody scales are densely arranged, with sharp, upward-facing tips.
