Sequoiadendron giganteum
Sequoiadendron giganteum is one of the largest conifers, native to the USA. In our climate, it reaches approximately 10 meters in height.
The tree's crown is regular, dense, conical, and low on the trunk.
The needles are dark green or bluish-green, sometimes shiny, evergreen, and exude a fragrance when crushed!
The cones are elliptical, up to 5 cm long and 4 cm wide, and contain thousands of small, lightweight seeds. Initially, the cones are green, turning brown when ripe.
Sequoiadendron giganteum grows best in fertile, well-drained, moderately moist soil. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations, sheltered from the wind.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are high-quality and designed for both nurserymen and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Seeds require stratification. To stratify, mix the seeds with moist sand or peat. Place the mixture in a plastic ziplock bag or container. Store in the refrigerator for at least 4-6 weeks. Check the soil weekly to ensure it hasn't dried out and aerate. After this process, sow the seeds in well-drained, light soil. Sow the seeds approximately 0.5-1 cm deep.
Place the pots in a warm, bright location.
The soil must be moderately moist at all times, but not wet, to prevent the seeds from rotting.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
