Camellia chekiangolesa is an evergreen, low-growing tree or tall shrub native to southern China. It reaches approximately 8 meters in height.

The flowers are large, showy, orange-red.

The leaves are dark green, leathery, glossy, and elliptical.

The fruit is large, apple-sized, and yellow-red when ripe.

Camellia chekiangolesa requires well-drained, moist, slightly acidic soil. It prefers sunny or partially sunny, sheltered locations.

Seed Handling Instructions:

Place the seeds in moist, well-drained, and acidic soil (preferably rhododendron mix) about 1.5 cm deep. The ideal location is partial shade, away from direct sunlight and strong winds. Water the soil lightly after sowing. Maintain constant moisture, but avoid overwatering. You can cover the container with plastic wrap to retain moisture, ensuring adequate ventilation.
