Bixa orellana
Bixa orellana, also known as the Orleans tree, is a large shrub or small tree native to Central and South America. It reaches approximately 10 meters in height.
The flowers are pinkish-purple, clustered in corymbs.
The fruits are reddish-orange, flattened capsules containing seeds.
The leaves are light green, ovate, and glossy.
The plant has medicinal properties! It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
Bixa orellana requires moderately fertile, well-drained, and moderately moist soil. It prefers a sunny or partly sunny location.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Seeds can be sown by placing them approximately 0.5-1 cm deep in a warm, bright location. Lightly cover them with soil and keep the soil consistently moist until germination occurs.
