Quercus petraea

Quercus petraea is a large deciduous tree common in Polish forests.

It grows to a height of 25-40 meters.

It typically has a straight, tall trunk and a dense, regular crown.

The leaves are obovate, with the upper side dark green and glossy, while the underside is lighter and matte.

Male flowers form pendulous catkins, while female flowers are small.

Acorns grow directly on the shoot or on a very short peduncle, clustered in clusters of several.

Quercus petraea prefers lighter, sandy-clay soils, poorer soils, and drier soils.

It prefers a sunny or semi-sunny location.

Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurserymen and amateurs.

Seed handling instructions:

Seeds should be sown directly into the ground in autumn or in spring after storing them in a cool place.

To stratify, store the acorns over winter in a cool, humid place (e.g., in a refrigerator at approximately 0°C to 4°C or in a cool basement in moist sand or peat).

After this process, the seeds should be placed in the soil at a depth of 4 to 5 cm, preferably in grooves, horizontally or diagonally.

Maintain moisture, but avoid overwatering.

SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
