Mucuna bracteata
Mucuna bracteata is a tropical legume native to Africa and tropical Asia, widely naturalized and cultivated.
It reaches up to 15 m in length.
The leaves are tripinnate and ovate. The leaf sides are often heavily furrowed, and the tips are pointed.
Young plants have hairs on both sides of the leaves.
The flower heads are axially arranged panicles. They are 15 cm to 30 cm long and bear two, three, or multiple flowers, which can be white, lavender, or purple.
The legume fruits are 4–13 cm long. A stripe runs along the entire length, and the husk is covered with loose, orange hairs. The pods contain up to seven seeds, which are shiny, black or brown, flattened seeds measuring 1–1.9 cm long.
