Aesculus indica
Aesculus indica is a large tree native to the northwestern Himalayas.
It grows to approximately 18-20 meters in height.
The leaves are usually composed of 7 lanceolate, dark green leaflets up to 30 cm long.
The flowers are white-pink, gathered in cylindrical panicles up to 40 cm long, appearing in early summer.
The fruit (chestnuts) are ovoid, prickless, and have a smooth skin.
Aesculus indica requires moisture-retaining soil and tolerates hard surfaces.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Place the seeds in a plastic container filled with moist sand or peat and stratify them in a cool place at 1-5°C (33-41°F) for 10 to 12 weeks. Sow outdoors in spring after all danger of frost has passed.
Choose a sunny or partially shaded, sheltered location with fertile, well-drained, and slightly moist soil.
Place the seeds shallowly in the soil, covering them lightly.
Water regularly, but avoid waterlogging.
SEEDS ARE FOR SOWING ONLY!
