Artocarpus chaplasha is a large deciduous tree native to northeastern India and China.
It reaches approximately 30-40 meters in height.
Young shoots are dotted with long, stiff hairs.
The leaves are large and of varying sizes, elliptical or round, leathery, entire or finely serrated.
The inflorescence is borne in the leaf axils and is spherical with a long flower stalk.
The fruits are spherical and edible. Fleshy integuments cover the seeds.
