Aegle marmelos
Aegle marmelos is a medium-sized tree native to the Indian subcontinent and Indochina. In our climate, it reaches approximately 10 meters in height.
The fruit is juicy, yellowish-green, apple-sized berries. They are suitable for preserves and can also be eaten raw.
The flowers are decorative, greenish-white, fragrant, and clustered.
The leaves are green, oblong-elliptical, and composed of three leaflets.
The plant has medicinal properties. The fruit, leaves, roots, and bark of the plant are used for medicinal purposes and contain significant amounts of vitamins A and C, as well as tannins, alkaloids, sterols, coumarin, and essential oils. These normalize intestinal function and stimulate metabolism.
Aegle marmelos has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations and is drought-resistant.
Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
