Cephalotaxus fortunei

Cephalotaxus fortunei

Cephalotaxus fortunei is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to central and southern China.

It grows up to 10-15 meters tall.

The needles are long, narrow, slightly curved, and soft to the touch. They have a shiny, dark green upper surface and two white, light gray stripes on the underside.

The edible fruit is ovoid, initially green, and purple-brown when ripe.

Cephalotaxus fortunei grows best in fertile, moist, but well-drained soil with a pH ranging from slightly acidic to neutral.

It prefers a partially shaded or shady location.
