Populus canescens
Populus canescens is a fast-growing, stately deciduous tree native to central, southern, and eastern Europe, western Asia, and North Africa.
It reaches a height of 25–40 meters.
The young bark is smooth, greenish-gray or gray-white, while in older trees it is dark gray and coarsely fissured at the base.
The leaves are variable, ovate or rounded. Young leaves are gray-hairy, later becoming dark green above and lighter below.
The flowers are clustered in pendulous catkins, appearing in March and April, before the leaves emerge.
Populus canescens prefers moist, fertile, sandy-loam soil.
It prefers a sunny location.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and designed for both nurserymen and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Seeds require moist, well-drained soil, so prepare a light, sandy-loamy, and consistently moist soil. This can be a box of all-purpose soil mixed with sand.
Sow the seeds superficially. Do not cover them with a thick layer of soil; the seeds need light to germinate. It's best to press them lightly into the soil.
Provide constant moisture, but avoid overwatering. The seeds need warmth and light.
