Tilia tomentosa
Tilia tomentosa is a large tree with a dense crown native to Southwestern Europe.
It reaches up to 30 meters in height.
The leaves are heart-shaped, dark green above and covered with soft white hairs below. In autumn, the leaves persist on the tree for a long time and turn yellow.
The small, creamy-yellow flowers exude an intense honey fragrance, making it a valuable honey plant and ornamental.
The fruit is a small, woody nutlet that develops on a long stalk with a leaf.
Tilia tomentosa grows best in fertile, well-drained, and moderately moist soil. It prefers a sunny or partially shaded location. It is tolerant of drought, air pollution, and frost.
Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Seeds require stratification – place the seeds in moist soil at a low temperature of 3-10°C for several weeks.
After this process, sow the seeds in the ground or in containers in early spring. The soil should be well-drained.
Provide a sunny location and moisture, but avoid overwatering.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
