Pinus elliottii is a fast-growing conifer native to the southeastern United States.

It reaches up to 40 meters in height.

The needles are long and stiff.

The bark of adults is orange-brown.

The seed cones are elongated and ovate. They have a light brown or reddish tint and are shiny.

Pinus elliottii grows best in sandy, moist, and even waterlogged soils, hence the name "swamp pine." It tolerates nutrient-poor soils.

It prefers a sunny location.
