Cornus officinalis
Cornus officinalis is a tall shrub native to the Far East. In our climate, it reaches approximately 7 meters in height.
The flowers are decorative, yellow, and fragrant. During the flowering period, they are densely covered with inflorescences. It blooms in late March and early April, before the leaves emerge.
The plant is a nectar plant!
The fruit, orange drupes, ripen in autumn, are edible, and are suitable for preserves!
The leaves are dark green, large, elliptical, and turn dark red in autumn.
Cornus officinalis requires fertile soil. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is frost- and drought-resistant.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
The seeds require a two-step stratification:
Mix the seeds with moist, fine-grained sand and maintain the temperature between 21-30°C (70-86°F) for approximately 2 months. After this process, move the seeds to a cool place, such as a refrigerator, for 4-6 months, ensuring the soil remains consistently moist.
Sow the seeds in April or May at a depth of 2-3 cm (0.8-1.1 inches). Use a light potting mix. Keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
