Larix decidua
Larix decidua is a fast-growing, long-lived conifer native to Central Europe.
It reaches up to 40-50 meters in height.
The needles are soft, light green, and prickless, growing in clusters of 20-40 on short shoots. In autumn, they turn a rich golden yellow before falling.
The cones are small, ovoid, green or purple when young, and light brown when mature, and drooping.
Larix decidua grows best in fertile, deep, well-drained, and moderately moist soil. It prefers sunny locations.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, as well as a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Guide:
Before stratification, it's a good idea to soak the seeds in water for about 24-48 hours.
To stratify, mix the seeds with moist sand or peat and place them in the refrigerator for about 4-6 weeks.
The best time to sow is April, when the ground has thawed and warmed slightly.
Sowing in autumn is also possible, allowing the seeds to stratify naturally in the ground.
Prepare fertile, sandy-loam soil with an acidic or slightly acidic pH.
Sow shallowly to a depth of about 0.5-1 cm.
Provide a sunny location and constant moisture, avoiding overwatering.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
