Picea engelmannii
Picea engelmannii is a narrow, evergreen tree native to North America.
In its natural habitat, it grows up to 50 meters tall, and in Poland, it reaches 20-25 meters.
The needles are prickly, thick, silvery when young, and varying degrees of coloration when older, from gray-green to bluish-green.
The cones are purple, pendulous, slender, cylindrical, 2.5-8 cm long, with thin, flexible scales and a wavy edge.
The seeds are black, with a slender, light brown wing.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Guide:
Before stratification, it's a good idea to soak the seeds in lukewarm water for about 24 hours.
To allow the seeds to undergo the stratification process, place them in a moist substrate and store them in the refrigerator for 4 to 8 weeks.
Sow stratified seeds in early spring indoors or in a greenhouse.
You can also sow them directly into the ground in autumn, allowing stratification to occur naturally. The substrate should be light, well-drained, and slightly acidic.
After sowing, ensure the substrate is consistently and moderately moist, but avoid overwatering.
Provide the seedlings with a bright location, but not direct, strong sunlight.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
