Acer truncatum

Acer truncatum is a tree native to the Far East.

In our climate zone, it reaches up to several meters in height.

The leaves are five-lobed with sharp tips and contain a milky sap. Young, developing leaves are reddish-purple, while mature leaves turn dark green. In autumn, they turn striking colors ranging from yellow to orange.

The flowers are greenish-yellow, clustered in corymbs.

The fruits are red, double samaras.
