Ulmus pumila

Ulmus pumila is a fast-growing tree known for its exceptional resistance to frost and drought. It is native to cool regions of East and Central Asia.

It typically reaches 8 to 15 meters in height.

The leaves are small, elliptical, pointed, and singly serrated. They are light green, turning yellow in autumn and falling for the winter.

The flowers of the Siberian elm are small, inconspicuous, and develop in early spring, before the leaves emerge.

The fruit are small, flat, winged nuts with a central seed.

Ulmus pumila is very tolerant. It grows best in fertile and moderately moist soil, but thrives in almost any soil type. It prefers a sunny location.

The photo above shows seeds of the plant included in this offer. The photo does not represent the actual number of seeds; it is only a preview image showing the seed size.

Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are high-quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.

The package contains 10 grams of seeds, which equates to approximately 1,500 seeds (quantity determined based on the weight of each seed).

Seed Handling Instructions:

Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 12-24 hours, then cool stratify for 2-3 months. To stratify, mix the seeds with slightly damp sand or peat. Place the mixture in a ziplock bag or airtight container. Refrigerate the container for 2 to 3 months. Keep the soil moderately moist, ensuring adequate air circulation. After 2-3 months of cooling, sow shallowly in early spring, to a depth of no more than 0.5 cm. The samara should be slightly above the soil surface. The soil should be fertile and constantly slightly moist. For the first few days after sowing, you can cover the pot/seed bed with fleece or plastic wrap to retain moisture.
