Cotoneaster lucidus is a vigorous shrub with stiff stems, native to Central Asia. It grows up to 2 meters tall.

This variety responds well to pruning. It is frost-resistant and drought-tolerant. It makes a good hedge!

Pink flowers, gathered in inflorescences of five per cluster, begin blooming in late May and early June. The plant is a melliferous plant!

Globular, black fruits, 1 cm in diameter, appear in October and remain on the plant for a long time.

The leaves are ovate-elliptical, dark green, and glossy, turning various colors in autumn.

Cotoneaster lucidus has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is completely frost-hardy.

Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

Seed Handling Instructions:

The seeds have a hard shell and require a two-stage freezing process. First, they are stored for 2-3 months at 20-25°C (68-77°F), and then for another 2-3 months at 3-5°C (3-5°F) (e.g., in the refrigerator). Alternatively, the seeds can be sown outdoors in autumn, immediately after harvest, to allow them to naturally stratify over the winter.

Sow in early spring (after home stratification) or in autumn (in the ground outdoors).

Prepare light, well-drained, and moderately moist garden soil. Plant the seeds approximately 1 cm deep.

Keep the soil moderately moist. Germination is uneven and can take from several months to a year.
