Chionanthus virginicus
Chionanthus virginicus is a spreading shrub native to North America. In our climate, it reaches approximately 4 meters in height.
The decorative, white, fragrant flowers are arranged in large panicles. It blooms in late May and early June.
The fruits are dark blue, plum-like.
The leaves are dark green, glossy, elliptical, up to 20 cm long, turning yellow in autumn.
Chionanthus virginicus has no soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is frost-resistant.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Seeds should first be soaked for 24 hours, then warm stratified for 3 months and cold stratified for 3 months. Stratification can be performed in a moist substrate, such as sand or peat and sand. After stratification, the seeds should be sown in a cold frame or pots. Provide a warm location and moist soil, but avoid overwatering.
