Prunus marybolana
Prunus marybolana is a shrub or tree native to Western and Central Asia, as well as southeastern Europe.
It grows up to 5-10 meters tall.
The leaves are usually elliptical, green, or, in ornamental varieties, purple/burgundy, serrated.
The flowers appear in early spring, before the leaves. They are white or pink, very numerous, making the tree very decorative during this time.
The fruit is small, spherical plums of various colors (yellow, orange, red, burgundy). The flesh is juicy, sweet and sour. The fruit ripens from August to September and is suitable for preserves, liqueurs, or eating.
Prunus marybolana is not demanding, but grows best in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil with a neutral pH. It prefers a sunny or partly sunny location. It is completely frost-hardy.
Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are high-quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
The seeds require approximately 3-4 months of stratification. Mix the seeds with moist soil and place the mixture in a ziplock bag or container, then refrigerate.
Check the moisture regularly and aerate the mixture.
After this process, sow the seeds in the ground or in pots.
Provide moisture, but avoid overwatering.
Provide a sunny location.
