Hippophae rhamnoides

Hippophae rhamnoides is a highly branched shrub. It grows up to 4 meters tall.

The plant has medicinal properties! The fruits are rich in vitamins and trace elements. They are used for stomach problems, rheumatic diseases, colds, and skin conditions.

The juicy, aromatic, orange fruits remain on the plant throughout the winter and into spring. Sea buckthorn berries are suitable for jams, juices, and purees; they contain a high level of pectin, which helps preserves set.

The small, yellow flowers bloom before the leaves emerge – from March to May.

The leaves are lacentate, narrow, and silvery-hairy, up to 7 cm long.

Hippophae rhamnoides has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. The plant is frost- and drought-resistant.

This plant is suitable for a hedge.

Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are high-quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.

Seed Handling Instructions:

Seeds must be stratified – place the seeds in a container and store in the refrigerator for 2-3 months. After stratification, sow the seeds in spring in well-drained soil at a depth of 1-2 cm and cover with a thin layer of sand.

Keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering.

Provide a sunny and warm location.

SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
