Pimpinella anisum
Pimpinella anisum is a species of annual plant in the Apiaceae family. It most likely originates from the eastern Mediterranean region.
It grows up to 50 cm tall.
Leaves vary in appearance. The lower stems have long petioles, rounded in outline, and strongly serrated edges (similar to parsley), while the upper stems are sessile, multiply pinnate, resembling dill leaves.
Flowers with white petals are clustered at the tips of the stems in large, flat umbels.
After flowering, the flowers develop into pear-shaped, greenish-gray fruit, flattened on the sides.
