Nerium oleander
Nerium oleander belongs to the Apocynaceae family and is native to the Mediterranean basin.
In Poland, it is cultivated as a houseplant for balconies and terraces.
In its natural habitat, it can grow up to 3-4 m tall. In pots, it usually does not exceed 50-150 cm in height.
The leaves are lush green, thick, leathery, and shiny. Their shape somewhat resembles that of a weeping willow, but they do not hang downward. They grow stiffly from the stem at an almost perpendicular angle.
The flowers are clustered at the tips. They can be single or double, and come in white, pink, purple, or red. They are known for their strong fragrance, although it is worth noting that some flowers are scentless.
