Pritchardia grandis
Pritchardia grandis is a fast-growing palm with large fan leaves. It likely originated in Tonga in the Southwest Pacific, although its origins are currently somewhat unclear.
It grows up to 10 meters tall.
The leaves are round, glossy, simple, undivided, and closely pleated.
The inflorescences reach up to 2 meters long, pendulous, and arise from the base of the leaves, usually longer than the leaves.
The flowers are small, white-yellow, and in autumn, round, decorative, berry-like fruits develop.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, as well as a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Soak the seeds in warm water for 2-3 days to soften the shell. If the seeds have a hard shell, you can slightly cut it. Prepare a light, well-drained substrate, such as coconut compost. Plant the seeds about twice their diameter deep. For very large seeds, plant them halfway into the soil, leaving the other half above the soil surface. Place the seeds in individual pots to prevent the roots from tangling. Keep the soil constantly moist, but not wet. Spray them when the top layer begins to dry out. The optimal temperature for germination is around 25-30°C (77-86°F).
Place the container in a warm location, but avoid direct sunlight. Cover the container with a clear film or glass to create a high-humidity microclimate.
SEEDS ARE FOR SOWING ONLY!
