Ligustrum vulgare
Ligustrum vulgare is a species of plant in the olive family. It is native to Europe, western Asia, and northwest Africa.
It grows up to 3 meters in height.
The flowers are white or greenish-white, gathered in dense, terminal, conical panicles. The inflorescence axis, pedicels, and calyx base are delicately pubescent.
The leaves are entire, somewhat leathery, glabrous, and short-stalked. The leaf blade is elliptical, dark green, ovate, and tapering towards the base and apex.
The buds are ovate, blunted at the top, adherent to the stem, and slightly flattened. The terminal buds are characteristically covered with small leaves.
The fruits are black, shiny, round or ovate, berry-like drupes. They contain 1 to 4 seeds.
Ligustrum vulgare has no soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is frost-resistant.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are high-quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
If sowing seeds in spring, they require stratification, which means mixing them with moist sand and storing them at a low temperature of approximately -3°C for about 3 months. If sowing in autumn, you can skip this step, as natural soil processes in winter will stratify them. After this process, place the seeds in light, well-drained soil to a depth of 0.5-2 cm and moisten the soil thoroughly.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
