Acer platanoides
Acer platanoides is a spreading deciduous tree native to Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and the Caucasus.
It reaches up to 30 meters in height.
The leaves are glossy, dark green, with pointed tips. In autumn, they turn yellow, orange, or red. The leaf blade is borne on a long, thin petiole. The petiole is pinkish-yellow or reddish.
The flowers are yellow-green, small, and clustered in dense, erect corymbs. They produce abundant nectar, which attracts insects, and bloom in early spring, usually before the leaves emerge.
The fruit of the Norway maple is a double samara. Each fruit consists of two flat nuts connected by a broad wing.
Acer platanoides grows best in well-drained, slightly acidic, and moist soil.
It prefers a sunny or partly sunny location.
It is completely frost-resistant.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
In autumn, scatter the seeds on the soil surface, then lightly cover with a layer of potting mix. Place the pot outdoors (e.g., on a balcony) and leave it there throughout the winter to stratify.
The first sprouts will appear in spring. Once they have established, they can be transplanted into the ground.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
