Phoenix canariensis is a species of plant in the Arecaceae family, native to the west coast of Africa, most likely the Canary Islands.

It is often cultivated as a houseplant.

It reaches up to 25 meters in height.

The leaves have highly variable shapes – some are stiff and erect, others are curved and slender.

A spadix-shaped inflorescence appears on older plants.
