Kigelia pinnata

Kigelia pinnata is an evergreen tree native to tropical Africa.

It reaches up to 18 meters in height.

The green, pinnate leaves contain valuable hexadecanoic acid.

The bell-shaped, dark red flowers hang on several-meter-long peduncles. They open at night and are pollinated by bats.

The tree produces fruit in gray "sausages" that can reach 100 cm in length and weigh up to 10 kg. However, the fruit is most often 30 to 60 cm long, 10 cm wide, and weighs approximately 5 kg.

Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, as well as a plant passport, if required.

Seed Handling Instructions:

Place the seeds in lukewarm water for 48 hours to increase their germination rate.

Use well-draining soil to prevent root rot and place the seeds in the ground.

Cover the container with plastic wrap or glass to maintain constant humidity and place it in a warm place.

Keep the soil consistently moist.

After germination, the plant will need a bright, sunny location.
