Aquilaria sinensis is a tropical evergreen tree native to China.

It reaches 10-20 meters in height.

The leaves are alternate, lanceolate, or oblong-elliptical. They are characterized by a vibrant green color and a shiny surface. The underside of the leaves has clearly visible pinnate veins.

The flowers are small and inconspicuous. Yellowish-green or whitish-yellow. They are bell-shaped, short-stalked, and gathered in small, loose inflorescences (umbels or racemes).

Despite their unassuming appearance, they exude a very pleasant, delicate aroma.

Aquilaria sinensis requires well-drained, fertile soil. It prefers a sunny location.
