Sorbus torminalis

Sorbus torminalis is a species of tree native to Europe, Asia Minor, the Caucasus, and North Africa.

It grows to a height of 15–25 m.

The leaves are lobed, single, and broadly ovate. They are rounded or heart-shaped at the base, finely serrated at the margin, and borne on a thin, long petiole. The leaves are dark green at the margin, paler underneath. In autumn, they turn red and brown.

The flowers are white, clustered in loose, erect umbels.

The fruits are spherical or ovate, on long stalks. Initially, they are reddish-yellow, later brown with light green spots.

Sorbus torminalis grows best in fertile, calcareous, and clay soils. It does not tolerate wetlands, preferring partial shade.

It is drought- and frost-resistant.

Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
