Fraxinus angustifolia
Fraxinus angustifolia is a tree in the olive family, native to Southern Europe and Asia Minor. It is one of the most beautiful ash trees. It grows up to 15 meters tall.
The plant has medicinal properties! The sap is used for medicinal purposes. It has a mild laxative effect, soothes intestinal inflammation, and detoxifies.
The creamy, fragrant flowers are clustered in dense, large panicles up to 12 cm long. Flowering begins in late May and early June.
The fruit is samara, and ripe, brown.
The leaves are ovate, light green, and oddly pinnately compound, turning yellow and orange in autumn.
Fraxinus angustifolia has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partially sunny, sheltered locations. It is very drought-resistant. Frost-hardy to -20°C (-4°F).
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurserymen and amateurs.
Seed Handling Guide:
It is best to sow seeds directly into the ground in autumn or in early spring after stratification. To stratify the seeds, mix them with moist sand, place them in a ziplock bag or pot, and refrigerate for approximately 4-6 months, monitoring the moisture content and checking for mold. After this process, the seeds are planted 1.5-2 cm deep, spacing them evenly. They require moderate humidity.
