Corylus colurna
Corylus colurna is a majestic, medium-sized deciduous tree. Native to southeastern Europe, it reaches 10-15 meters in height.
The leaves are large, heart-shaped, dark green with distinctly serrated edges.
In spring, the Turkish hazel tree is covered with long, yellowish catkins, which are a decorative element.
The fruits have a hard shell and taste similar to hazelnuts. A characteristic feature is their extremely jagged outer covering, which extends well beyond the nut.
Corylus colurna grows best in sunny to partially shaded locations, where its leaves can fully develop their intense color. It prefers fertile, moderately moist, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH. The plant is frost-hardy.
Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Seeds require stratification - Mix the seeds with moist sand and store in a refrigerator at 0 to 4°C for 1-3 months.
Once stratification is complete, sow the seeds in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny location in spring.
Ensure proper humidity and temperature throughout the entire process.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
