Millettia pinnata
Millettia pinnata is a species of tree in the Fabaceae family, native to eastern and tropical Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands.
It grows up to 25 m tall.
The leaves are alternate, short, rounded, and pointed at the apex, without serrated edges. They are burgundy when young, and dark green when mature, with visible veins underneath.
The white, purple, and pink flowers, arranged in clusters, bloom year-round. The raceme-like inflorescences contain two to four flowers, each strongly fragrant, and reach a length of 15–18 mm.
The pods are thick-walled, smooth, brown, slightly flattened, and elliptical with a slightly curved tip.
They contain one or two brownish-red seeds with an oily coating.
