Taxodium mucronatum

Taxodium mucronatum is a tree with soft green needles belonging to the cypress family. It grows wild in cooler regions of Mexico, Guatemala, and the southern United States in Texas. The species is on the Red List of Endangered Species.

It reaches approximately 30 m in height.

The needles last for 1-3 years and reach a length of 1-2 cm. They are arranged spirally, curved at the base, and arranged in two horizontal rows.

Male flowers are arranged in long panicles, while female flowers are single and sessile.

Oval cones, 1.5-2 cm long.

Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.

Seed Handling Instructions:

Stratify the seeds for about 1-2 months by mixing them with moist sand and storing them in the refrigerator. Then, in spring, sow them in light, well-drained soil to a depth of about 0.5-2 cm, covering them with a thin layer of soil. After sowing, cover the containers with plastic wrap or a glass cover, place them in a bright, warm place (20-25°C), and air and mist them regularly.
