Coriandrum sativum
Coriandrum sativum is an annual plant belonging to the Apiaceae family.
It is native to the eastern Mediterranean region.
It grows up to 70 cm in height.
It is a highly melliferous plant.
Coriander leaves are quite diverse: the lower leaves are single, borne on long petioles and serrated, the middle leaves are bipinnate or tripinnate, and the upper leaves are multiply divided and stalkless.
Small flowers appear at the top of the stems, grouped in umbels. They can be white or pink.
The fruit is a spherical, brown, ribbed, aromatic schizocarp.
